Subject: GROUND WATER DATA Posted: 5/1/2022 Viewed: 5440 times
Greetings, I need help in determining the "Initial Storage" and " Storage Capacity " of the ground water. The available information pertaining ground water is (1) Borehole depth, (2) Water level (m), (3) Discharge Rate ( L/s), (4)Borehole diameter.
So with the available data, how can I get "Initial Storage (m^3)"??
Please assist your fellow here.
Kind regards

Asavela,
Determining the initial storage and storage capacity based on your well discharge data sounds like a groundwater hydrology question that I would not be able to answer in this forum. You would likely need data on well depths, stratigraphy, hydraulic conductivity, and porosity to answer this question.
As you probably have already discovered, Initial Storage is simply the starting volume of available water in your aquifer for withdrawal at the beginning of your simulation. Storage Capacity is the total maximum volume of water that can be held in the aquifer. Note that you do not have to enter a value for the storage capacity and can leave it unlimited.
