Deffinition of Reliability Mehdi Mirzaee MMirzaee <a href="mailto:M.Mirzaee@wri.ac.ir">M.Mirzaee@wri.ac.ir</a>I run a complex model for water consumption and uses for different sectors as a part of an IWRM project. As you know in IWRM reliability of water allocation is different. e.g. for potable water I want to get 96% reliability and for irrigation purpose I want to get 85%.
How could I define them for WEAP? I could not get any place for this data....

Deffinition of Reliability Jack Sieber jsieber <a href="mailto:jsieber@tellus.org">jsieber@tellus.org</a>Reliability is not an input to WEAP, but it IS an output. WEAP tries to achieve 100% reliability for all demand sites. If there is a shortage of water, then the demand sites with the highest priorities get their demand satisfied first. In your example, you would give priority 1 for potable water demand, and priority 2 for irrigation.

To see the reliability, go to the Results View, choose Demand Coverage for the graph, then check "Percent of Time Exceeded" at the bottom. The point at which the lines go below 100% is the reliability, or the percent of time that all a demand site's demand is met. In the attached example (from Weaping River Basin), Industry East's reliability is 87%, while South City has 95% reliability.
