water balance of a reservoir

How does WEAP take into account the lake surface of a reservoir to calculate evaporation loss? I already introduced the net evaporation as data to the model.

WEAP uses the volume-elevation curve to interpolate from a change in elevation to change in reservoir volume. Because evaporation data is entered as a change in elevation, WEAP can use this change (decrease) in elevation to calculate the change (loss) in volume.
WEAP does not calculate or use the surface area of the lake to calculate the volume change.
